christian persecution complex (ver. 1.0)

christian persecution complex is a satirical horror/exploration puzzle game about a journey through the mind of a believer. i made it with bitsy over the course of about a month. it's playable only in-browser, so you need a desktop/laptop computer and internet connection to play it.

this game will resonate best with players who have experienced american evangelical conservative christianity  in some way, as this is the culture it examines and satirizes. it also depicts ways in which transgender people are sometimes viewed and talked about through a conservative christian lens, so there is a content warning for transphobia and misgendering.

i created this game as part of a project experimenting with playable print media, and i am making a companion zine with a simplified version of the game that readers can "play." i am new to gamemaking but it's something i've been trying to build skills on over the past year or two. if you like this weird little game, please share your thoughts on it. thank you for playing!
